About Angus

Angus MacLane is a film director, screenwriter, animator, and avid LEGO builder.

While at Pixar Animation Studios he directed LIGHTYEAR and TOY STORY OF TERROR!, and co-directed FINDING DORY.

He designed LEGO WALL-E as a personal project and submitted it to LEGO Ideas. It reached 10,000 votes and was released as an official set in 2013.

Angus also created the CubeDude building format, a stylized mini‑figure approach that predates LEGO’s official BrickHeadz theme and became widely copied in the LEGO community.

He delivered the keynote at BrickCon 2022, and has discussed his creative process in interviews and on Adam Savages' Tested.
